X-Ray Eyes

by The Scratch

/
  • Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

Second single from The Scratch, this time only on 10 inch vinyl. Two great tracks. 'X-ray eyes' is a great slab of dubby beats and deranged steel guitar. The B-side 'Brainstorm' shows a more electronic side to the band.

When you buy the vinyl you also get an immediate download of the 2-track album in your choice of 320k mp3, FLAC, or just about any other format you could possibly desire.

about

'X-Ray Eyes' by England's The Scratch is one of the most pocket-picking white guy post-punk dub dance whatsis slabs since The Pop Group's "She Is Beyond Good And Evil". And, yeah, it lacks some of that record's massiveness. but the sputzy way these clowns pile grooves together on "X-Ray Eyes", then tangle them with Beefhearty guitar slides, and strange post-glam vocals, is pretty goddamn snappy. [The Wire]

'Brainstorm' is a dark, paranoid journey through modern life and in particular our difficult relationship with technology. The claustrophobic, narcotic, atmosphere isn’t helped by a marvellous rumbling bassline that brings to mind Massive Attacks darker moments. [Losing Today]

about

The Scratch St Albans, UK

A rock band from St.Albans & Firm believers in DIY ethic they released their 1st single as 7” vinyl only in 2002 & was stocked by Rough Trade in London.

An amalgum of T.Rex, Velvet Undergroud & other good things plus a big dollop of themselves. Eccentric english rock‘n’roll, with weird catchy riffs. Dark & other times funny, they don’t do po-faced indie thank god! [Marco Pirroni, The Wolfmen]
